I can remember it like it was yesterday! It was hot, we were tired, and my dad still had to work! We were chilling in a brand new 1988 Ford Econoline and it was Navy blue. It was seats longer than our legs! The worst part is that our Dad made us listen to Elvis and Roy Orbison. KEarth101 was a permanent fixture although all we longed for was KIIS 102.7!

To this day, I am so thankful that my dad forced this (against our great and vast disapproval) upon us. THANK YOU!

About a week ago, my (most favorite material possession) was stolen out of my car. I was devastated, livid, and then some-what relieved. It could have been worse. Sweet Elise Marie, age 5 years and 5 months and almost 5 days lost her very first tooth today. It's been loose for about a week now. While eating a tostada next door at her BFF's house it came out which sent her running home at full speed.

"MOM! I LOST MY TOOTH! MY TOOTH IS OUT! OH EM GEE MOM! DAD, LOOK! MY TOOTH IS GONE!"

We were so excited for her that we were hugging and taking pics. When I asked her where the tooth was, she shrugged and I watched a light bulb go off in her brilliant head.

"Well," she said "guess we better go take an x-ray for the tooth fairy."

Facts About Avery Grace,

I remember long ago when Ellie was a rambunctious and "wild" toddler my dad telling me something like "What if Ellie's the calm one?" Then he would cackle an evil sort of laugh. He was so right. Avery Grace is most certainly the wild one. At 3.5 years old she's very sassy and very stubborn. She whines like it's going out of style as well which is so annoying.

Avery Grace also talks with a British accent, can almost tell time, and is shockingly good at not only dancing to this song, but singing the words as well. Avery wants to be 26, not 3 and would like to have a Willy Wonka birthday party. (We're talking creepy Johnny Depp Wonka.) She would rather listen to Florence and the Machine and Adele than to kids song, thank goodness! Every morning she comes into our room with a huge smile asking in her high pitched voice "Can I snuggle you?" She also loves to cook and to watch cooking and to eat adventurous food. Her dance moves are the best!

All that makes it hard to stay mad at her when she cuts her own hair into a mullet, draws on her wall and dresser, breaks my sunglasses and eats potting soil. Sort of.

So if anyone is still reading this blog, I apologize. Things have been really busy over here and blogging has moved down on the to-do list. (Work, life, kids, Facebook laundry, and summer fun has moved up on the list.)

The girls are growing faster than ever and are keeping me on my toes big time. Ellie is READING. We are so proud. She has some new freckles from so much fun in the sun.

Avery Grace is potty trained now! She never ever stops! She's always running and jumping and moshing. It's hard to fathom that she will be 3 soon. It's really all happening too fast for my liking.

Not sure how often I'll blog until summer is over...but I hope you and yours are enjoying your summer and doing lots of exciting things.
